The panel that makes the KB90 look like new again
The group cover panel is the metal sheet that sits above the two brew groups on the KB90. It is visible surface, splash guard and resting ledge in one – and therefore the part that picks up the most scratches in a busy bar. This version carries the part number C.1.418.2 and is for the 2-group machine.
You can see bar life on it: limescale rings where milk has spilled over, dull patches where the cloth passes a hundred times a day, and dents from portafilters that were set down just off the mark. A new cover panel makes more visual difference than any other single part.
When it’s due
The surface is dull, scratched or stained and can no longer be cleaned. The sheet is dented and no longer sits flat. A mounting point has torn out, so the cover panel rattles. Or the machine needs to look right again before a handover or sale.

Who it’s for
For cafés and roasteries with a 2-group KB90 whose technology runs flawlessly and where only the looks are lagging behind. The machine stands in plain view on the bar – a clean cover panel counts for more there than you might think.
What goes with it
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: At the end of a shift, we always wipe group cover panels along the grain of the stainless steel and never in circles – our own habit, not a manufacturer’s instruction. This keeps the surface even for longer instead of it taking on a wiping haze. Afterwards, it’s worth pulling a test cup with Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty from our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been fitted or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we’ll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Does the cover panel also fit a 3-group KB90?
No. C.1.418.2 is the 2-group version. There is a separate number for three groups – write to us and we’ll order the right one.
Are screws included?
No, the cover panel is supplied on its own. We stock matching screws separately.
Can I do the replacement myself?
As a rule, yes – it is a sheet-metal part, not a pressurised component. Still, disconnect the machine from the mains beforehand and let it cool down.
Can a scratched cover panel be polished up?
Light wiping marks yes, deep scratches and dents practically not. Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly whether a replacement is worth it.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
