Two rings, same thickness, same height, four and a half millimetres difference in diameter: that is exactly where orders go wrong. This ring measures 77.5 millimetres and carries part number F.4.015. The larger one at 82 millimetres is number F.4.016 and a separate position.
Its job is the same: it seals the grinding chamber where moving parts meet stationary ones, and it does so with a material that causes no drag and does not absorb coffee oil. Once it develops play, the grinder gets dusty – not dramatically, but a little every day.
Fine coffee dust on the grinder that wasn't there before. A ring with noticeable play, flattened on one side or with grooves around its circumference. Ground coffee that stays stuck in the chamber instead of running out cleanly. And as with its bigger brother: when you replace the burrs, it makes sense to put the ring in the same order.

For businesses with a Swan whose grinding chamber no longer seals properly, and for service technicians who replace all the wear parts in the chamber while changing the burrs.
The larger version is the PTFE ring Ø 82 × 1.5 mm for the Swan. Other Swan parts include the Extruder discharge cone, the O-ring 1.78 × 69.57 mm EPDM and the holder for the inner burr. You'll find the grinder itself as the La Marzocco Swan coffee grinder, and all grinder parts under Coffee grinder accessories and spare parts.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
Our own routine, not a manufacturer specification: before throwing the removed ring away, we put it on the table next to the new one and compare the diameters side by side. With 77.5 against 82 millimetres, you see the difference immediately in a direct comparison, but practically never from memory. For the test grind afterwards we use Nutty Delight; with milk we like Cozy Chocolate, and for something stronger there's Very Nutty. Everything under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll check the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Part number F.4.015. The larger ring at 82 millimetres carries number F.4.016.
By the outer diameter of the removed ring. 77.5 millimetres is this position, 82 millimetres the other one. If the old ring is badly deformed, send us your grinder's serial number and we'll check it for you.
Our documentation lists both with a thickness of 1.5 millimetres and a height of 3 millimetres. The only difference is the diameter.
The ring sits in the grinding chamber, so not in a pressurised line. Even so, the grinder must first be disconnected from the mains, and the burrs have to be set correctly again afterwards. If you've never done this before, it's better to leave it to a professional.
