A commercial machine doesn't get taken apart on a Sunday, but at six on Tuesday morning, when the first guests are due in two hours. And that's exactly when you find that a screw has lost its head or snapped while being unscrewed. An M5 × 10 in stainless steel is not a spectacular part – but without it the machine won't close up again.
This is the original La Marzocco part for the KB90, M5 with a length of 10 millimetres, rust-free, part number I.1.005. Exactly the kind of small part that belongs in every well-stocked service case.
When it's due
The drive in the head is worn out and the tool no longer grips cleanly. The thread runs rough because limescale or cleaning agent got onto it. Important for installation
If the screw sits inside the machine, the machine is disconnected from the mains, depressurised and allowed to cool down before the replacement. We deliberately don't give step-by-step instructions here: on a KB90, mains voltage and hot water under pressure are close together, and the service documentation tells you which screw goes where better than a product page can.

No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. Where exactly does this screw sit on the KB90?
The item description doesn't name an assembly, and we don't make one up. Take the number I.1.005 from your service documentation, or send us your machine's serial number – then we'll check the fit for you.
How does it differ from the M5 × 40?
Only the length: 10 instead of 40 millimetres, and therefore a different part number. I.1.005 versus I.1.007. A screw that's too long can touch parts behind it.
Do I get a set or one screw?
One screw. If you need several, order the corresponding quantity – at this price a small stock is worth it.
Does it also fit other La Marzocco machines?
The list assigns it to the KB90. Whether the same position is used on another model is something we won't say on a hunch – ask us with the serial number and we'll look it up.
