The KB90 is a machine built for high volume. It stands in businesses where portafilters are locked in and jugs are set down all day long. The side panel takes a fair share of that, and chrome-plated sheet metal shows every dent twice as clearly under the bar lighting.
This left side panel in chrome is the original part for it, listed by La Marzocco under part number C.1.422.SX.GR. “SX” stands for left, the abbreviation “GR” identifies the chrome version – the red version has the same number without GR.
The panel is dented or bent out at one edge. The chrome plating has flaked off or gone dull in one spot, usually where a harsh cleaning agent was left standing. A mounting point has torn out and the panel rattles during operation. Or the machine is being given a visual refresh after years of continuous use.

Behind the panel are the internals of the KB90, with mains voltage, boiler and hot water. Before removing the panel, the machine is switched off, disconnected from the mains and allowed to cool down. When screwing it on, first set all screws loosely, then align, then tighten – this keeps the gaps to the front and back panel even.
For businesses with a KB90 that want their machine to look neat again during day-to-day operation, and for service workshops refurbishing a KB90.
The opposite side is the right side panel in chrome; in red, the same part is available for the left and right. At the back, it meets the KB90 2-group back panel in chrome, and the group cover sits on top. Everything for the machine under La Marzocco KB90 spare parts.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement: we clean chrome-plated panels only with water and a soft cloth, never with acid or chlorine cleaners. It is precisely these agents that cause the dull spots that later make a panel need replacing. And when the day gets long, we have Very Nutty running. More under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
SX denotes the left side, GR the chrome version. The red version of the same panel is listed under C.1.422.SX, i.e. without GR.
No. The left panel is supplied. The right side is a separate item and is linked above.
On the KB90, the side panels carry no group count in their number, whereas the back panels do. Still, we make no claims here about your model – send us the serial number and we will check the fit.
