The back of the KB90, clean in chrome again
The KB90 is a workhorse. It stands where hundreds of shots are pulled every day, where things get pushed, wiped and stacked on the counter – and after a few years the housing shows it, often most clearly at the back.
This back panel is the 2-group version in chrome. It's the part you replace when straightening it out is no longer enough: for dents, warped edges or torn-out screw points. Part number C.1.423.2.GR.01.
When it's time
The panel is dented or so warped at one corner that it no longer sits flush. The chrome-plated surface shows rust spots or areas where the plating has worn away. A screw hole no longer holds because the panel has been taken off and put back on countless times during servicing. Or the machine has been moved to a new location, and that left marks at the back.

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
Our own routine, not a manufacturer's specification: we fit chrome-plated panels wearing gloves and tighten the screws in a crosswise pattern, not one after the other. Chrome doesn't forgive being put under tension – a panel that was tightened at one corner first will stick out at the other end and later show the first rust spots there. Afterwards, a few test shots, usually with the Nutty Delight. For a more chocolatey cup, go for the Cozy Chocolate, for a stronger one the Very Nutty. Everything else under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Does this panel fit a 3-group KB90?
No. C.1.423.2.GR.01 is the 2-group version. For three groups, we carry the back panel chrome KB90 3-group as a separate item.
What does the GR in the number mean?
It identifies the chrome version. The red panel has the number C.1.423.2.01 without this abbreviation. We don't have any further explanation of the code, and we won't make one up.
Is there a logo on the panel?
The item description doesn't mention one, so we don't claim one either. If in doubt, send us a photo of your machine and we'll tell you what you need.
Are screws included?
We don't have a breakdown of the scope of delivery; we assume the panel comes as a single part. If mounting hardware is missing, we'll put it together for you.
Can I see the part at your premises?
