The right side panel has the part number F.1.009.DX. In the Italian documentation, DX stands for destra, meaning right. It is the counterpart to the left panel and has its own order number – the two sides are not interchangeable as mirror images.
On the GS3, the right side takes knocks more often than the left, because in many setups that is where the grinder or the counter space is, and in everyday use portafilters come in from the right. What you see is rarely a break: it is a panel that sticks out at one edge because the mounting point has hairline cracks, or a dent that can no longer be removed.
The panel no longer sits flush, and the gap to the front is uneven. A mounting point is cracked or broken out. Visible scratches or dents. Or the machine is being sold and should look right.

For GS3 owners who want to bring their machine back up to scratch visually, and for service workshops that do both sides during an overhaul. A single panel often makes the machine look right again – if you replace both, also order the left position.
The opposite side is the left side panel F.1.009.SX. It is fastened with the chrome screw for the standard side panel, or for the glass panel with the chrome screw for the glass side panel. The anthracite plastic cover including metal sheet is a separate item: right side cover, plastic, anthracite. More under Spare parts for the GS3.
From our workshop
When we replace a panel in Bern or Zurich, we lay the old one next to it and compare the mounting points before closing up the machine. Twice a year it turns out that the panel was not to blame, but a warped bracket behind it. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. For the acceptance espresso we use Nutty Delight, more chocolatey with Cozy Chocolate and stronger with Very Nutty; everything else under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
In the Italian manufacturer documentation, DX stands for destra, meaning right. Left is listed as SX for sinistra.
