On a lever machine, you feel every bit of wear in your hand. The lever no longer moves silkily; it judders. At the top turning point there is resistance that wasn't there last year. On the way back it pulls unevenly. Usually the cause isn't the lever itself but what works beneath it: the pushrod and its gaskets.
This service kit carries part number 1002 and is the set La Marzocco specifies for the pushrod overhaul on the LEVA. Our documentation doesn't break down which individual parts it contains – so we deliberately don't list anything here that we can't back up. If you want to know whether a specific item is included, just drop us a line.
The lever runs rough, unevenly or with a click. The pressure profile during the shot no longer matches what the lever travel would lead you to expect. Moisture appears under the group that wasn't there before. Or simply: the machine is due for its scheduled overhaul and the lever group is being opened anyway – then the pushrod set belongs in the job, because nobody wants to open it a second time.

The lever group works with spring force and carries full brewing pressure during the shot. Only open it when depressurised and cooled down, and only release the springs with the proper tool. We deliberately don't give step-by-step instructions here. Anyone dismantling the group works with the service documentation and the designated tool – anything else ends at a loaded spring.
For technicians overhauling a LEVA, and for businesses that have their lever machine serviced on a fixed schedule. Order all three kits for the group together and you'll get the overhaul done in one go.
The same overhaul includes the Piston service kit LM1001 and the Rotary chamber service kit 1004. The matching tools: the puller tool for the piston and the assembly tool for the gaskets. Everything else under LEVA spare parts and Original spare parts.
From our workshop
When a LEVA comes in for an overhaul at our place in Bern or Zurich, we first film the lever travel – once down, once up, without coffee. After the service, we compare. The feel in your hand can deceive you; the movement on video can't. That's our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. We pull the first shot afterwards with Nutty Delight, because this blend reacts to an uneven pressure profile straight away with sharpness. It gets rounder with Cozy Chocolate and stronger with Very Nutty; everything else under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Our documentation doesn't break that down, and we don't make up a list. You'll receive the set as the manufacturer lists it under number 1002. Ask us if you're looking for a specific item.
No. The piston is listed under LM1001, the rotary chamber under 1004. This is the pushrod, number 1002 – three different items in the same group.
The item description doesn't say so. We stock the pushrod separately as an individual part. If you need both, drop us a line.
We don't recommend it. The lever group is under spring force, and removal requires the designated tool.
Yes. We're in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a line beforehand and we'll have the part ready for you.
