The inner lining that keeps the GS3's hot water tap clean
Hot water and metal are not an entirely simple combination: limescale builds up, flavours migrate into the water, and over the years the cross-section narrows. That is why the GS3's hot water path is fitted with a Teflon insert at this point – smooth, neutral and heat-resistant. It has the part number T.3.001 and fits size 1/8 to 1/4.
You only notice it when it is missing or defective: the jet gets weaker and sputters, the water tastes metallic, or the tea that was fine a moment ago suddenly has an aftertaste that nobody can explain.
When it's due
The hot water jet has become weaker or fans out. The water tastes different than it used to. The removed insert is torn, deformed or covered in limescale. Important: before replacing a part in the hot water path, it is almost always worth doing a thorough descaling first – you'll find suitable products under Machine and grinder cleaning. If the jet is still weak afterwards, it's time for the insert.

Important for installation
The hot water path is under pressure and carries water well above 90 degrees. Switching off the machine, disconnecting it from the mains, letting it cool down and depressurising it are prerequisites. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here. When reassembling, the associated gaskets should be renewed, and the first draw after the work goes into the drain, not into the cup.
Who it's for
For GS3 operators whose hot water dispensing is no longer right or whose water tastes of metal, and for workshops overhauling the hot water path. Anyone who serves a lot of tea will notice the difference most.

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: Before every hot water diagnosis, we run a cupful into a glass and hold it up to the light – flakes and cloudiness tell us more about the condition of the line than any description over the phone. This is our own routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards, an espresso is a must, ideally the Nutty Delight or Cozy Chocolate. No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or test-fitting on the machine. So please check your machine's model, year of manufacture and serial number before ordering – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Do I get the whole hot water tap with this?
No. Only the Teflon insert T.3.001 is supplied. Spout, nozzle and diffuser are separate items and linked above.
Does descaling help instead of replacing?
Often, yes – and we expressly recommend trying that first. Replacement is only worthwhile if the jet remains weak after a thorough descaling or the part is visibly damaged.
What does “1/8-1/4” mean?
It is the size specification from the manufacturer's list and refers to the connection dimensions of the tap. That is all it says, and we don't claim anything more.
Does it also fit a Linea Mini?
The manufacturer's specification names the GS3. Send us your machine's serial number and we'll check the fit before you order.
Can I see and pick up the part at your showroom?
