The spout that shapes the hot water stream
The Hot Water Spout is the last piece on the hot water's path into the cup. It gives the stream its shape and helps determine whether it flows steadily or splashes over the rim of the cup. Part number L160/3.02.
Because it is the narrowest point in the line, limescale builds up here first. The flow gets weaker, the stream becomes unsteady, and anyone who has to fill lots of tea cups quickly notices it straight away in the dispensing time.
Descale first, then replace
Before you replace it: in most cases limescale is the cause, not wear. Thorough descaling often brings the stream back completely. You'll find what you need in our Machine and grinder cleaning, such as the descaler and the descaling pads for the water tank. Only if nothing improves afterwards or the part is mechanically damaged is a replacement worthwhile.
When it's due
The stream is weak, twists or splashes sideways even though the machine has been descaled. The opening is visibly clogged. The thread is damaged or the spout no longer seals. Or it is bent and misses its target.

Who it's for
For businesses that serve a lot of tea and for anyone who wants their hot water stream to go cleanly into the cup again without replacing the whole valve assembly.
What goes with it
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: We remove the hot water spout during our monthly service round and soak it overnight in descaling solution together with the diffuser – our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Two small parts overnight save quite a few replacement orders over the year. For the cup afterwards: Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty from our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Is it worth descaling before replacing?
Almost always. The spout is the narrowest point in the line and is the first to clog with limescale.
Is this the same as the diffuser?
No. The diffuser is the fine screen at the front, the spout is the outlet piece itself. Both can be replaced separately.
Which machine does L160/3.02 fit?
The description does not indicate a model series. Send us the serial number and we'll confirm the fit before shipping.
Can I replace it myself?
Usually yes, it is screwed on from the outside. Work on the machine when it is cold and depressurised.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
