The cap sits on the front of the steam and water knob of the Linea Mini R and closes it off with its M27 x 1,5 thread. It is the part that rests under your thumb when you froth milk – and that is why it is also the first part to turn dull, collect scratches or, after a few years, no longer tighten down properly.
A damaged cap is not a technical emergency, but it does stand out. If it sits loose, it turns along with the knob when you use it, rattles quietly and eventually reveals the edge of the insert underneath. At that point at the latest, replacing it is worthwhile, because a cap that turns along rubs against its seat.
Replace the cap if it no longer tightens or comes loose by itself, if the thread is worn out, if the surface is scratched, tarnished or dented, or if it has fallen during cleaning and become warped. It is also worth a look after servicing the knob: anyone who has gripped it with pliers even once will usually still see the marks years later.

For anyone who has a Linea Mini R at home or in a bar and wants the knob area to be clean again. Replacing the cap is one of the few jobs on this machine that you can do yourself without tools and without opening the housing – the cap is screwed onto the thread from the outside.
Underneath the cap sits the insert plate D.4.058 – if you replace the cap, take a look at it at the same time. For the older Linea Mini there is the knob cap F.1.053 and the knob itself. Everything else can be found in the section Linea Mini spare parts and under Original spare parts.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
We always tighten this cap by hand only, never with pliers, and during servicing we lay a cloth over the knob before working on it. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement – but it prevents exactly the scratches that are the most common reason this cap is ordered. Afterwards, as a check, we pull a Nutty Delight and froth milk with it; if you like it sweeter, go for the Cozy Chocolate, and if you want more punch, the Very Nutty. All of them can be found under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we will work out the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Our documentation lists F.1.273 for the Linea Mini R. For the older Linea Mini, the cap F.1.053 is the right item. Send us the serial number if you are unsure.
No. The plate D.4.058 is a separate item and is ordered separately.
The number F.1.273 carries no colour suffix, so we do not claim a colour. At La Marzocco, endings such as .60 stand for black, .50 for white and .GR for chrome – no such suffix is present here.
No. The cap is screwed onto the M27 x 1,5 thread from the outside, by hand and without pliers.
