A small sip, a brief moment – and already the cup it comes from can give that moment a colour. Four espresso cups, four colours, each with a faceted outer wall that breaks the light before any espresso even flows in.
The angular shape is a nod to the past: it picks up the silhouette of the first La Marzocco espresso machines from 1927, with their distinctive twelve-sided housing. The set was created in collaboration with POLSPOTTEN, the Amsterdam design house known for bold colours and idiosyncratic objects. Each cup is handcrafted from glossy glazed porcelain with a speckled surface – no two pieces are ever quite alike. The four colours are matched to the Linea Mini and Linea Micra, but they work with any machine.
Heat receptors in the fingertips, the weight of the cup, the colour the eye notices first: all of this shapes how an espresso is experienced before the tongue even reaches it. Design and feel influence enjoyment before the first sip – that's not a claim, it's measurable.
Nobody needs an espresso cup in a Polygon design – any 100 ml vessel technically serves the same purpose. Whoever wants this set wants something else: a small, colourful expression on their own counter. That's an emotional decision, and our opinion on it is just one of many.

For anyone who enjoys espresso on its own and wants to give their ritual a colourful touch – whatever machine sits at home. No prior experience needed, just an appreciation for colour and form.
Anyone who wants to take extraction into their own hands doses by weight rather than time. For a scale that's affordable and reliable, our Normcore collection is worth a look; anyone who wants an app and flow-rate display finds the next step in our Acaia collection. The same goes for grinders: no budget is ever just a starting point – our Varia coffee grinders cover a wide range, from compact all the way to the endgame with the Weber Workshops collection. And anyone eyeing a Linea Mini or Linea Micra of their own finds the complete lineup in our La Marzocco collection.
No. They work with any coffee machine – the colours are simply matched to these two models.

Yes, you can experience the set live in our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b).
Yes, the cappuccino, latte and breakfast bowl sets from the same collection share the same shape language and colour world.
For a dense, aromatic espresso we recommend, for the great majority, Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight from our own roastery. Anyone looking for maximum body with no acidity at all will find it in Very Nutty. For anyone wanting to discover a fruity experience for a change, Wild Peach is worth trying. That's our recommendation – one of many.
You order directly through our online shop. If you have questions, we're happy to help — online or in person — with experience from our roastery, cafés and showrooms.
