The steam and water tap decides whether a machine feels good to use. It should open easily, close cleanly and let nothing through in between. That is exactly what it loses over the years: limescale builds up on the valve seat, the gasket hardens, and at some point you always have to turn it a little tighter.
This item is the complete tap for the Rocket Appartamento and Mozzafiato, part number A229905784. It is purely mechanical – no solenoid valve, no electrics. It gets replaced when the valve seat is worn and an overhaul of the gaskets no longer holds.
When it is due
Typical signs: hissing or dripping with the handle closed, a handle without a clear stop, a rough or catching rotation, moisture on the valve body behind the front panel, and drips that come back within weeks after a gasket change. The last point is the clearest: then it is not the gasket that is at fault, but the seat underneath.

Important for installation
The tap is attached to the boiler and carries steam and hot water under pressure. Before any work, unplug the machine, let it cool down completely and release the pressure. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here: the connection to the boiler needs the correct tightening torque, and the electrics sit right next to it behind the front panel.

What goes with it

The most common reason for a damaged valve seat is habit: you turn it a touch tighter every time because it already wasn't quite sealing last week. That is why we deliberately only turn it until the first noticeable resistance – if it still drips, a gasket needs changing rather than more force. Our routine, not a manufacturer specification. Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine before ordering – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Is this a solenoid valve?
No. It is a purely mechanical, hand-operated tap with no coil and no electrical connection.
Are the rotary knob and cap included?
The scope of delivery follows the manufacturer's specification for number A229905784 and lists neither. We stock rotary knobs and caps separately.
Does the tap also fit a Giotto or Cellini?
The number is assigned to the Appartamento and Mozzafiato. For other model series, send us the serial number and we will check the fit.
Isn't a new gasket enough?
Often, yes. But if the dripping returns shortly after an overhaul, the seat is worn – then only the complete tap provides a lasting fix.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
