The newer version from serial number D1224G2V3182
One component, two versions, a clear dividing line: from serial number D1224G2V3182, the steam and water tap of the Rocket Premium Plus, Evoluzione and Professional carries the number A229905621; before that, a different one. The documentation also lists the superseded number A229905055 – it refers to the same item.
The tap is purely mechanical. You turn the knob, a spindle lifts a gasket off its seat, and steam or hot water flows. What wears over time is the valve seat – and it lets you know with a hiss that won't stop.
When it's due
Reasons to replace it: hissing or dripping with the knob closed, a knob without a clean stop, a rough or catching rotation, moisture on the valve body behind the front panel, and recurring leaks despite new gaskets.

Important for installation
The tap carries steam and hot water under boiler pressure. Before doing anything, unplug the machine, let it cool down completely and release the pressure. We deliberately don't give step-by-step instructions here – at the boiler fitting, the tightening torque determines whether it seals, and the electrics are right next to it. We're happy to do this for you in Bern or Zurich.

Who it's for
For anyone with a newer Premium Plus, Evoluzione or Professional, and for workshops that service these machines. If a drip has only just appeared, it's worth trying a rebuild with gaskets first – the complete tap is the solution for a worn-out seat.
What goes with it
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
If a tap suddenly starts dripping after descaling, that's no coincidence: the limescale had clogged the leak and hidden it. That's why, with older machines, we plan a gasket kit right away whenever a thorough descaling is due. Our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards, we like to pull the first shots with Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight, and for a really full body with Very Nutty. Everything else is in our coffee bean selection.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for your order and cannot be resold once installed or test-fitted on a machine. So please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine before ordering – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
My serial number is right on the dividing line – which one do I take?
D1224G2V3182 and everything after it is this item, A229905621. Everything up to and including D1224G2V3181 is A227704280. If in doubt, send us the number.
What does the number A229905055 mean?
That is the superseded part number of the same item. If you find it in older service documentation, you're in the right place.
Is this a solenoid valve?
No. It is a purely mechanical, manually operated tap with no coil and no electrical connection.
Are the rotary knob and cover included?
No. The scope of delivery follows the manufacturer's specification for number A229905621 and lists neither.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
Yes. We're in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b.
