La Marzocco lists the set under part number Y.1.009.BL: two side panels and screws. According to the manufacturer, the back of the glass carries a ceramic coating against scratches, and the print on top creates contrast and depth.
A decision for the eye
The side panel changes nothing about the espresso. It changes how the machine looks on the counter. That is a decision for the eye, and it is just as valid as any technical one.
Inside, the GS3 works with a dual boiler and a saturated group. For us, the saturated group delivers a more refined aroma profile than an E61. That is our observation; others see it differently.
