Drip tray grate for the Rocket Appartamento – the smaller version, made to fit its tray
The Appartamento is the most compact of Rocket's home machines, and its drip tray is correspondingly smaller than that of the larger series. The grate on top holds cup and portafilter, catches the flush of water during heat-up and is the surface you look at most often – because it sits right in front of you.
This grate is made specifically for the Appartamento and does not fit the Mozzafiato, Giotto, R Cinquantotto or R58. The part number is A019905633.
When it is due
It is due when it has bent and the cup stands crooked, when bars are deformed or broken, or when the surface is so scratched and dull that coffee oil collects in it and no longer comes off.
The most common cause is pressure on one spot: leaning on it while tamping, or knocking out the portafilter on the grate. A warped grate then no longer lies flat in the tray and rattles with every movement.

Who it is for
For anyone with a Rocket Appartamento whose grate is bent, broken or can no longer be cleaned properly. It is simply placed in loosely – there is nothing to screw on and nothing to adjust.
Likewise for anyone who has taken over a used Appartamento: the grate reveals a machine's past life, and it is the least expensive part to change something about that.
What goes with it
The matching tray underneath is the drip tray without grate for the Appartamento. It goes together with the plastic collection container, the sealing plug with O-ring and the lock nut.
On top of the machine, the cup tray for the Appartamento and the complete cup tray for the TCA generation fit, and at the bottom the foot.

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
In Bern and Zurich, during the weekly clean we take the grate out completely and soak it in hot water with a little cleaning powder. You wipe the top every day anyway, but hardly anyone ever sees the underside – and that is exactly where the residue builds up. We knock out the portafilter in the knock box and never on the grate. This is our own routine, not a manufacturer specification. You will find suitable products under machine and grinder cleaning.
Once the machine looks fresh again, fresh beans are worth it too. On the Appartamento, from our roastery we like Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight, and for lots of body without acidity Very Nutty. All our roasts are listed under coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine before ordering – or drop us a quick line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Does this grate also fit the Giotto, Mozzafiato or R58?
No. These series have a larger drip tray and their own, larger grate. The two versions are not interchangeable.
Is the drip tray included?
No, you only get the grate. We carry the drip tray without grate for the Appartamento as a separate item.
Does it also fit the Appartamento TCA?
Our documentation lists the grate for the Appartamento without restricting it to a particular generation. Because details can change over the years of manufacture, if in doubt send us the serial number and we will check.
What are the dimensions of the grate?
Our documentation does not state any, and we do not give dimensions here that we cannot verify. The part number A019905633 is what counts.
