The handle your hand reaches for a hundred times a day
The steam handle is the control part that gets touched most often and noticed least – until it starts to wobble. This replacement handle carries the part number B.1.005 and is exactly that: the handle, without valve, without spindle, without gaskets.
When it develops play, you notice it first by feel. The travel before it opens gets longer, the stop feels spongy, and when closing you have to give it a little extra push. At the latest when the handle spins on the square spindle, the steam can no longer be dosed cleanly.
When it’s due
The handle sits loose and can be turned on the spindle. The mounting is worn out or broken. The surface has been attacked by milk and cleaning agent and feels dull and rough. Or the handle broke while the bar was being rebuilt – in practice, that happens more often than wear.

Who it’s for
For anyone whose control part is worn out while the valve assembly itself works perfectly. Instead of the complete steam valve, only the handle is replaced – the cheaper and usually also quicker route.
What goes with it
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: At every service we briefly check whether the steam handle sits on the spindle without play – our own routine, not a manufacturer requirement. A wobbling handle often wears down the spindle along with it, and then a small part turns into a big one. The cup afterwards is most enjoyable with Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty from our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine before ordering – or drop us a quick line and we’ll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

Is the steam valve included?
No. B.1.005 explicitly covers only the handle. The valve assembly, spindle and gaskets are separate parts.
Which machine does the handle fit?
The item description doesn’t point to a specific series, and we don’t want to guess. Send us your machine’s serial number and we’ll tell you before you place an order whether it fits.
My steam keeps dripping. Will a new handle help?
No. Dripping comes from the seat and gasket in the valve, not from the handle. Get in touch and we’ll narrow it down together.
Do I need special tools?
Usually not – the handle is mostly secured with a screw or grub screw. Always work only on a cold, depressurised machine.
