What makes this seal special
Factory original: this is the seal that is installed in the Cremina from the factory
Olympia explicitly calls it the "Original Brühkopfdichtung Cremina" (Original Cremina Group Head Seal). If you want to keep your Cremina in its factory condition, this is the right choice. Silicone is softer than PU, which allows the portafilter to lock in smoothly and provides a gentle stop when clamping.

What is the difference to the PU version?
Silicone is softer and temperature-resistant, gentler when clamping the portafilter – corresponds to the factory original. PU with 95 Shore A is harder and more durable, with a slightly firmer tamping feel. Silicone for original fidelity, PU for heavy users.
When should I replace the seal?
If water leaks from the portafilter during extraction or the portafilter can no longer be clamped tightly. Typical replacement intervals for silicone: 1–2 years with intensive use.

The silicone version is the factory original – if you want to keep your Cremina in its true original condition, this is the right choice. When replacing: lightly grease the brew group beforehand, then the new seal will slide cleanly into position. Our opinion, one of many.
