Power Transmission in the Mina Mechanism
The rod is the connecting element between the lever fork and the piston. When pressed down, it transfers the hand force to the piston, which in turn presses the water through the puck. A precisely manufactured rod is a prerequisite for clean pressure build-up without jamming.
Wear Part in the Mina System
With frequent and intensive travel use, the piston rod can develop signs of wear – visible as play between the lever and the piston or uneven pressure build-up. A replacement restores the original lever feeling to the Mina.

When should I replace the piston rod?
In case of visible bending, play between the lever and the piston, or uneven pressure build-up. With normal use, the rod lasts for many years.
Do I need tools for installation?
Yes – suitable screwdriver and possibly the replacement Mina piston rod screw (200164). The Mina is designed for easy service; doable with prior experience.
