Rocket tank lid with plastic insert – so the water tank stays properly covered
The lid on the water tank is the part you pick up every day and never look at. It keeps coffee grounds, dust and milk splashes out of the tank and gives you a view of the water level when you lift it off.
This item brings the lid and plastic insert together. The insert is the part that comes loose or warps over time – and without it, even a flawless lid no longer closes properly.
When it's due
The most common sign is a lid that no longer sits flat but sticks up on one side. Usually it's down to the insert, which has come loose or swollen from the constant moisture.
On top of that come cracks along the edge, a lid that falls apart when you lift it off, and limescale on the underside that can no longer be removed. If the lid is open or crooked, coffee grounds get into the tank – and you'll find them again later in the filter.

Who it's for
For anyone whose tank lid no longer closes cleanly or whose insert has come loose. And for anyone who has bought a used Rocket and wants to start afresh with the water tank.
What goes with it
We carry the tank itself in two versions: Water tank for the newer models and Water tank for Giotto and Cellini, old version. The filter for the water tank goes inside the tank.
The connections sit at the bottom of the tank: the coupling for the tank connection, the elbow as a push-fit connector and, for the Appartamento, the 3-way tank connection.

From our workshop
We take the lid off completely every time we change the water, instead of just sliding it to one side. A fine film builds up under the insert that you can't see from above and that smells noticeably after a few weeks. Rinse once with hot water, let it dry, done – our routine from the workshop, not a manufacturer's specification.
When you fill the tank with fresh water, don't put the lid down on the counter in the meantime – place it next to the tank with the underside facing up. Sounds fussy, but it keeps out of the tank exactly what the lid is supposed to keep out.

No returns
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be put back on sale once they have been installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
