Acaia Calibration Weight 500 g – Stainless Steel Reference Weight for Precise Scales
A compact block of stainless steel, cool and surprisingly heavy in the hand. You place it on the weighing surface, the display quickly counts up and then calmly settles at 500.0 – and in that moment, you know that your scale is once again accurately reflecting what's truly on it.
It's an inconspicuous piece of metal with a precise task: the truth against which your scale measures itself.
What makes the Acaia Calibration Weight special
A scale is a measuring instrument, and measuring instruments drift over time – temperature, slight tilt, shocks during transport, or simply everyday use affect the sensor. With a defined reference weight, you bring the scale back into alignment: You place the weight on it, start the calibration, and the scale adjusts its measurement to the known value. After that, what it displays is accurate.
Acaia manufactures these weights from stainless steel to a standard equivalent to class F2 – with a tolerance of approximately ± 0.0075 grams. The logo and value are neatly laser-etched, and a custom-fit EVA foam case protects the weight from scratches and dirt during transport, which would impair its accuracy. The weight is suitable for Acaia scales like Pearl, Pearl S, and Lunar and can also be used for other precise scales that can be calibrated using a 500-gram reference – such as grinders with integrated scales. Whether you calibrate regularly is up to you; this is just our view, one of many.

Who the calibration weight is made for
The 500g weight is for anyone who wants to consistently trust their scale – both at home and in daily operation. Those who frequently transport their scale, move between locations, or simply want to ensure that recipes remain reproducible will find this a reliable reference measure. Many Acaia scales come with a 100g weight; the 500g allows for calibration at a higher point of the measuring range. With us, every coffee journey is welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Acaia Calibration Weight 500 g
Why do I need a calibration weight?
A scale drifts over time due to temperature, shocks, or transport. With a known reference weight, you can calibrate it so that it accurately displays what's on it again – the basis for reproducible recipes.
Which scales work with the 500g weight?
With Acaia scales such as Pearl, Pearl S, and Lunar, as well as with other precise scales that can be calibrated using a 500-gram reference, such as grinders with integrated scales.
How accurate is the Acaia calibration weight?
It is made of stainless steel and corresponds to accuracy class F2 with a tolerance of approximately ± 0.0075 grams. An EVA foam case protects it from scratches and dirt that could impair its accuracy.
How often should I calibrate my scale?

Roastery Tip
We like to calibrate our scales after every change of location – a quick adjustment that saves a lot of trouble if a recipe suddenly tastes different. For the espresso afterward, we often reach for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight – full-bodied, sweet, dense. If you like it full and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. This is our recommendation, one of many, and any bean you enjoy is the right one.
