Normcore Puck Screen 58.5 mm – 2 Pieces (1.7 and 1.0 mm) with Stand
You place the fine stainless steel disc on the tamped coffee bed, close the brew group, and the water distributes more gently and evenly over the entire surface, instead of shooting in at one spot. When the shot is finished, the puck detaches in one piece – and the brew group stays clean.

What makes the Puck Screen special
The Puck Screen sits on top of the coffee bed and ensures a gentler, more even water flow into the puck. This helps reduce channeling and promotes a more consistent extraction. At the same time, it keeps the brew group's shower screen clean because hardly any coffee grounds are drawn upwards, and the puck can be knocked out compactly and in one piece. With a mesh size of 150 microns, the screen supports the full extraction of your coffee grounds.
The set includes two thicknesses: 1.7 mm and 1.0 mm. The 1.7 mm is the most popular choice for normal grind sizes. If you grind finer, for denser roasts for example, the 1.0 mm is the calmer choice – as a rule of thumb, 1.0 mm suits darker roasts well, and 1.7 mm suits lighter and medium roasts. There's no right or wrong; this is just our view, one of many.

What does a Puck Screen do?

Both are included. 1.7 mm is the most popular choice for normal grind sizes and goes well with lighter and medium roasts. 1.0 mm is suitable for finer grind sizes and darker roasts.
Does the Puck Screen fit my machine?
At 58.5 mm, it fits common 58 mm portafilters. If your shower screen is attached with a screw, such as with La Marzocco or Slayer, use about 2g less coffee for a double shot so that the screen doesn't touch the screw and bend.
How do I clean the Puck Screen?
Rinse thoroughly with water after use. If soiled, clean with Cafiza or a shot of steam from the steam wand.
Roastery Tip
Especially with dense, darker roasts, the Puck Screen noticeably keeps the shower screen cleaner. For dense, sweet espresso, we like to use Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you prefer it full-bodied and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. This is our recommendation, one of many, and any bean you enjoy is the right one.
