Normcore Tamping Station – Solid Wood in Walnut and Black Oak
A fixed place for your portafilter and puck tools: a recess for the 58 mm portafilter, two round wells, a small opening and two slots. Normcore calls it the «Compact Espresso Tamping Station».
We carry it in walnut and black oak, at Normcore «Walnut» and «Black Oak». Normcore describes it as a compact station that keeps your accessories organised and gives each one its own place. Buy in Switzerland: online with delivery or via Click & Collect in Bern and Zurich.
What defines the Tamping Station
While you distribute and tamp, the portafilter rests in the recess and your tools stand next to it. In Normcore's photos, two Puck Screens sit in the slots, the WDT tool in the small opening, the tamper and distributor in the round wells. How you use the spaces is up to you.
According to Normcore, the station does not fit portafilters with an upward-facing spout. For 51 mm and 54 mm portafilters, Normcore makes a separate version.
The details in everyday use
The black insert of the portafilter recess can be removed, as Normcore's photo shows. Underneath is the recess in the wood.
Walnut shows a warm, brown grain; black oak is dark with a visible wood structure. On the walnut version, the sides show layers of lighter wood. Functionally, both versions are the same.
