Weber Workshops Blind Shaker – dosing and shaking tool for 58mm
You grind directly into it, snap on the lid, and give it a quick shake. The grounds settle evenly, static clumps break up, and nothing ends up on the counter. Then you set the shaker on the 58 mm basket and pull the plug – the grounds drop cleanly into the basket.
The Weber Workshops Blind Shaker is a dosing and redistribution tool made from anodized aluminum with a polished, smooth inner wall. Coffee Coaching Club is the exclusive Swiss importer of Weber Workshops.

What makes the Blind Shaker special
During single dosing, freshly ground coffee builds up static charge and clumps together. Shaking it in the closed cup removes that static, breaks up clumps, and distributes the grounds. According to Weber, this reduces static and channeling and increases extraction yield. The polished inner surface is finished so smooth with a proprietary process that almost no grounds stick – with no coating at all.
With Weber grinders (EG-1, Key), the shaker centers itself automatically on the grind plate thanks to a magnet in the base, as well as on the rear right shelf of the EG-1 base. For other grinders, it's also available as a Blind Shaker without magnet.

Blind Shaker or Blind Tumbler
The Blind Shaker has a lid and is built for 58 mm – you shake actively and homogenize. The Blind Tumbler has no lid but fits both 58 and 49 mm and is quicker to use. If you want to actively homogenize, go for the Shaker; if you switch between basket sizes, go for the Tumbler.
Shaking and WDT
The two complement each other well: shaking breaks up coarse clumps and removes static, and the needles of a WDT tool then loosen any fine remnants directly in the basket. Many people use both together.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need the Blind Shaker if I already have a WDT tool?
The two complement each other. The Shaker removes static and breaks up coarse clumps through shaking, the WDT loosens fine remnants in the basket. Many people combine both.
Does the Blind Shaker work with non-Weber grinders?
As a dosing cup, yes. The magnetic self-centering only works with Weber grinders. With other grinders the magnet can get in the way – that's why there's a Blind Shaker without magnet.
How do you shake it properly?
Lid on, shake vertically a few times first, then swirl horizontally. A few seconds is enough. Then set it over the 58 mm basket and pull the plug.
Silver or Onyx – is there a functional difference?
No, only visual. Both use the same anodized aluminum with the anti-stick inner surface.
Roastery tip
With very light, dense roasts, shaking too vigorously can compact the grounds. One or two gentle movements are usually enough; the WDT takes care of the rest. With our medium profiles like Nutty Delight the process is especially forgiving. That's our recommendation, one of many.
