Acaia Bean Hopper – bean hoppers from 250 g to 2 kg for Orion and Orbit
A handful of beans hasn't been enough for you for a long time. You fill the hopper to the top, and as you grind, batch after batch flows through without you topping up in between. If a coffee isn't used up yet, the hopper gate neatly sets it aside and the next one can go in.
A hopper series that grows with you – from a compact container to a large supply.
What makes the Bean Hopper series special
The Acaia Bean Hopper series comes in four sizes: 250 g, 520 g, 750 g and 2 kg. With the increased capacity, every hopper size is suited to batch dosing and grinding larger quantities – you choose the size that fits your routine and your space.
The 750 g and 2 kg versions also have a hopper gate. It lets you shut off the flow and swap beans even when the hopper isn't empty yet – handy when you switch between coffees. Whether the compact or the large version suits you better is your call; that's just our view, one of many.

Who the Bean Hopper series is for
The hoppers are for anyone who grinds or doses larger quantities in one go – whether at the counter with the Orion or at home on the Orbit. If you want to stay compact, go for the small size; if you'd like to keep a supply and switch between coffees, choose the large one with the hopper gate. Every way to coffee is welcome here.
What goes with it
The Orion dosers, the Orbit and the matching Multipurpose Hopper are in our Acaia collection. If you'd like to compare grinders more broadly, take a look at our coffee grinders. Not sure which size suits your setup? Our advice tool can help.
Frequently asked questions about the Acaia Bean Hopper series
What sizes are available?
The series is available in four sizes: 250 g, 520 g, 750 g and 2 kg. That way you'll find the capacity that fits your routine and your space.
Which grinders is the Bean Hopper compatible with?
The hoppers attach directly to the Acaia Orion, Orion Mini and Orion Nano. They fit the Acaia Orbit via the Multipurpose Hopper.
What is the hopper gate?
A shut-off on the 750 g and 2 kg versions. It stops the flow so you can swap beans even when the hopper isn't empty yet.
What are the larger hoppers good for?
For batch dosing and grinding larger quantities – for example at the counter, or when you want to keep a supply without constantly topping up.
Roastery tip
If you grind a lot in one go, it's still worth keeping in mind that ground coffee loses aroma faster than whole beans – which is why we prefer to fill the large hoppers with whole beans and grind fresh. For a dense, sweet espresso we like to reach for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you like it full and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for something fruity, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. That's our recommendation, one of many, and any bean you enjoy is the right one.
