Jungle Flower comes from the Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera Laguna de Los Cóndores in the province of Luya, in the highlands of the Amazonas region in northern Peru. Founded in 2017 by twelve coffee producers in the Providencia district, the cooperative today is a community of around 800 coffee-growing families – including 243 women – who work in direct trade with roasters on both sides of the Atlantic.
The farms sit at 1200 to 2200 metres above sea level. At this altitude, the cherries ripen more slowly and densely – the foundation for the round sweetness and elegant clarity you'll find in the cup. Classic varieties like Typica, Caturra, Bourbon, Catuaí and Villa Sarchi are grown here, with cup scores between 82 and 86 SCA points. Anyone who drinks Jungle Flower becomes, in a way, part of this community – that's the beauty of coffee with an origin.
Jungle Flower is washed. With this method, the fruit pulp is removed before drying, so the pure, clear side of the bean comes to the front – that's the reason for the elegant, tidy cup without heavy notes.
Temperature also decides which aromas release: a little hotter and the body becomes fuller and rounder, a little cooler and the floral elegance and delicate jasmine come through more clearly. So the soft elegance is in your own hands, with no pressure at all.

As an espresso it shows soft, creamy and mild, with a round, elegant finish. We extract by weight ratio, 1:2 as a starting point – about 18 g of coffee to 36 g of espresso. In filter or pour-over it becomes clearer and lighter, and the floral elegance with its touch of jasmine comes through most delicately.
There's no right and no wrong here – the coffee has to taste good to you, that's the only thing that matters. And because the bean, the humidity and you yourself change every day, no cup is ever exactly like the last. That's not a limitation, that's the beauty of it.
For everyone who likes it soft, mild and elegant – a coffee that doesn't need to be loud to please. Its creamy character makes it a calm everyday companion, whether as espresso, filter or pour-over. And for anyone who loves the elegant, a fine floral note with a touch of jasmine sits underneath the mild softness. No prior knowledge is needed – just a taste for a beautiful cup.
For the fine elegance to come through in the cup, an even grind helps. In our Coffee Grinders you'll find affordable and precise options like the Varia VS3, while the Varia VS6 offers more range; by hand you grind fine and calm with the Comandante hand grinders. Not sure what suits you? Our advice tool can help.
Because Jungle Flower blooms especially beautifully in filter and pour-over, the brewers from our Hario Collection or the AeroPress – both affordable and versatile; if you want more, you'll find it in the Weber Workshops range with the BIRD. To get the ratio right, a scale helps: compact from the Normcore Collection, with app and flow-rate display from the Acaia Collection.

Yes. It gives a soft, creamy and mild espresso with an elegant finish; in filter or pour-over it becomes clearer and the floral elegance comes through more finely. As a starting point, extract 1:2, about 18 g to 36 g.
Before drying, the pulp of the coffee cherry is removed. That produces a clear, elegant cup – exactly the tidy softness that defines Jungle Flower.
Yes. Its mild, creamy character makes it a calm everyday companion that's never overpowering – as espresso just as much as in filter.

This bean's roast profile was developed by Yalcin, a certified food chemist with over 15 years of experience in the international flavour industry, most recently as Senior Taste Designer at Philip Morris International. More about his background in our roastery.
From the roastery: Jungle Flower is our elegant, quiet variety – creamy, mild and floral, for days that are allowed to be soft and unhurried. As espresso we start at 1:2; in pour-over the floral elegance with its touch of jasmine comes through most clearly. If you like it bolder and more chocolatey, Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight from our Coffee Beans are the perfect fit. That's our recommendation, one of many.
