Kinu M47 Classic – Hand Grinder with 47 mm Stainless Steel Conical Burr

Buy the Kinu M47 Classic in Switzerland: an all-metal hand grinder with 47 mm conical burrs, stepless adjustment, from espresso to filter. Bern and Zurich.

The M47 Classic is the very first model Kinu ever launched. Body and internal parts are made entirely of metal, the funnel and catch cup of stainless steel. The grinder works without electricity. You'll find it in our Kinu Collection, alongside other models of the M47 range.

The solid thumb stopper below the head gives you a better grip while cranking and makes the grinder easier to handle.

47 mm conical burrs, self-centring

The 47 mm conical burrs grind fast, whatever brewing method you are grinding for. The design based on the Morse taper principle centres the burr set itself and keeps the burrs precisely aligned. Four ball bearings in the body and the handle knob ensure smooth running.

Who It's For

For everyone who grinds by hand and wants an all-metal grinder, at home or on the road. With the stepless adjustment you cover espresso, AeroPress, pour-over and French press. If you want to travel lighter, you'll find more M47 models in the Kinu Collection; other hand grinders, for example from Timemore, are in our Hand Grinders.

Equipment for the ground coffee: a lever machine from the Flair Espresso Collection, the AeroPress, or pour-over and French press from our Filter Equipment. For weighing the beans: compact and precise are the scales from Normcore; if you want an app, flow-rate display and Bluetooth, go for Acaia.

Not sure which grinder suits your setup? The advice tool narrows down the choice. You can test grinders side by side in the comparison workshop in Bern or Zurich, an option, not a requirement. A free consultation appointment is also possible.

Delivery across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2–4 business days. Click & Collect in Bern, Gerberngasse 44 and Zurich Oerlikon, Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Questions: [email protected] or by phone during business hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

What burrs does the M47 Classic have?

A 47 mm conical burr set that centres itself according to the Morse taper principle. The adjustment is stepless and numbered.

What sets the Classic apart from the Simplicity and Phoenix?

On the Classic, the funnel and catch cup are made of stainless steel. The Simplicity uses ABS plastic for these, and the Phoenix is the lightest version, without the self-centring full-metal construction.

Is it suitable for espresso and filter?

Yes. The stepless burr set covers the range from fine for espresso to coarse for filter and French press.

How much coffee does it hold?

Kinu states a capacity of 40 grams.

Can I see the Kinu M47 Classic live before buying?

That depends on whether the M47 Classic is on display right now. In our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) we show a wide selection, but not the entire range. Write to us before your visit at [email protected] and we will check whether the M47 Classic is currently there.

Tip from the roastery: For a round, chocolatey, nutty espresso, Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight are a good match, for maximum body without acidity Very Nutty. If you are looking for a lighter, fruity profile in filter, discover Wild Peach. That is our recommendation, one of many.
