The portafilter sits steady in the fork again
The rubber pad is the small piece the portafilter rests on while grinding. It holds it in place, cushions knocks and prevents metal from rubbing against metal. This version belongs to the newer design of the LEO and has the part number C00071911.
Rubber ages even when nothing happens. It hardens, cracks, absorbs coffee oils, and at some point no longer holds the portafilter steady. If you replace the part in good time, you'll feel the difference every time you grind.
When it's due
It's due when the portafilter shifts or rattles in the support, when the rubber has become hard, cracked or greasy, when pieces are missing or when new scratch marks appear on the rim of the portafilter.

Who it's for
For anyone with a LEO of the newer design – and for businesses that treat the part as a plannable wear part rather than an annoyance when it tears.
What goes with it
For the older design we stock the rubber C00071802. Other LEO parts are the flapper C00044007, the rotary knob for the grind adjustment and the plastic lid C00043015. The whole section is under Macap and PuqPress spare parts, more grinder parts under Coffee grinder accessories and spare parts.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
At the daily close we wipe the support with the damp cloth we also use on the steam wand. It's coffee oil that makes the rubber hard, not age alone – this is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards we have a Nutty Delight, sometimes the Cozy Chocolate or the Very Nutty. The full selection is under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the new version cost more than the old one?
They are two different parts with their own part numbers and their own design. The prices come from the respective purchase costs, not from an upgrade.
How do I know which version I need?
The safest way is the number on the removed part or a photo of the support. Send it to us and we'll tell you which of the two numbers fits.
Is the metal carrier included?
No, only the rubber is supplied.
Does it also fit other Macap grinders?
Our documentation lists C00071911 for the LEO in the new version. It says nothing about other models – just ask us and we'll check.
Can I pick up the part at your shop?
Yes. We're in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a line to say which part you need and we'll have it ready.
