No more coffee grounds on your countertop
The flapper is the soft flap on the chute. It closes the channel when nothing is being ground and keeps the remaining grounds where they belong. A small part that moves a hundred times a day – and at some point it hardens, cracks or loses its tension.
You notice it when the area around the grinder is constantly dusty, when grounds keep trickling out after grinding, or when the last dose is consistently half a gram too light because the rest gets stuck in the channel.
When it's due
Replace the flapper when it has become hard or brittle, when it has cracks or notches, when it no longer springs back on its own or when grounds trickle out after every grind. In daily bar use it is a regular wear part.

Who it's for
For bars, offices and households with a Macap LEO – the cheapest part in the catalogue that makes the biggest difference on your countertop.
What goes with it
For the same grinder there is the knob for the grind adjustment, the plastic lid and the display cover. All Macap items are listed under Macap and PuqPress spare parts, more grinder parts under Coffee grinder accessories and spare parts.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
We take the flapper out during the weekly cleaning and wipe it dry. If you clean it in the dishwasher, it will be hard within a few months – that is our routine, not a manufacturer specification. For the grinding channel we use Puly Grind Verde, more products are listed under Machine and grinder cleaning. Afterwards we grind a Nutty Delight as a check, sometimes the Cozy Chocolate or the Very Nutty. The full selection is under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fit on the device. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
How often does the flapper need to be replaced?
That depends on use. In a bar with many shots it is a yearly wear part; at home it lasts considerably longer. Its condition decides, not the calendar.
Why is there no picture?
We don't have a product image for this item. We would rather show no picture than someone else's that shows something different. Write to us and we will describe the part to you in detail.
Will a flapper from another brand fit?
We advise against it. Flappers look similar but differ in width, thickness and mounting. Order the number that belongs to your grinder.
What material is it made of?
We have no information on that, so we don't claim any. The only reliable reference is the part number C00044007.
Can I pick up the part from your shop?
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a quick message saying which part you need and we will have it ready.
Questions about the fit? Write to us at [email protected]. We deliver across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2-4 working days.
