You place the thin, black-coated disc on the tamped puck, attach the brewing chamber, and pull the lever. The water first hits the etched screen and distributes evenly over the puck surface, instead of hitting it at a single point. The brew head stays clean, and after brewing, the screen can be easily removed with a magnet.

What makes the Etched Puck Screen special
The etched hole pattern ensures a softer, more even water delivery to the coffee bed. Unlike the sintered mesh screen, it does not retain fine particles and does not require pre-wetting to prevent edge channeling. The screen is made of magnetic stainless steel with a black PVD coating and a laser logo – you can remove it with any magnet, including that of the movable shot mirror. The material also pre-heats faster than the sintered mesh.
