Why IMS Competition Precision Baskets?
The 715 circular holes with a conical cross-section are a patented IMS innovation. They ensure significantly better crema formation and a more even flow through the entire coffee puck – right to the edge. The cylindrical shape with a flat bottom was developed by IMS to achieve the optimal ratio between the base and height of the coffee puck.

B702TH24.5M (24.5 mm height) – Ideal if you:

The actual fill quantity depends heavily on roast level and grind size:

Dark Roast: Tends to be more grams (beans are more voluminous)

From the Community: What you should know
In espresso forums, users report that fill quantity specifications can vary between different shops. The basket height is the most reliable indicator. Some baristas successfully use 18 g in the 24.5mm basket, others find that too much – experiment to see what works best for your roast and machine.
Important: If you switch from standard baskets to IMS precision baskets, you will need to re-adjust your grind size. The more precise perforations often allow for slightly finer grind settings.
