The portafilter sits steady in the fork again
The rubber pad is the small piece the portafilter rests on while grinding. It holds it in place, cushions knocks and stops metal from rubbing against metal. You don't think about it until it's gone – and then the portafilter slides a little further forward with every grind.
Rubber ages. The pad hardens, cracks, coffee oils soak in, and at some point it comes loose from the support or is simply worn through. This version fits the older design of the LEO, part number C00071802.
When it's due
It's due when the portafilter shifts or rattles in the support, when the rubber has become hard, cracked or greasy, when pieces of it are missing or when new scratch marks appear on the rim of the portafilter.

Who it's for
For anyone with an older-design LEO who wants to replace a wear part for a few francs before the rim of the portafilter suffers.
What goes with it

At the end of each day we wipe the support with the damp cloth we also use on the steam wand. It's coffee oil that makes the rubber hard, not age alone – that's our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards there's a Nutty Delight, sometimes the Cozy Chocolate or the Very Nutty. No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we'll work out the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.

How do I tell the old version from the new one?
The surest way is the number on the removed part or a photo of the support. Send it to us and we'll tell you which of the two numbers you need.
Is the portafilter support itself included?
No, only the rubber is supplied. The metal support stays on the grinder.
How often does the rubber need replacing?
Our documentation doesn't specify an interval. In practice it depends on how often you grind and how clean you keep it.
Does it also fit other Macap grinders?
Our documentation lists C00071802 for the LEO in the old version. It says nothing about other models – just ask us and we'll check.
