A solid E61 group head, a large water tank, and a removable cup tray that makes refilling easy: the Pro 500 QS is a classic heat exchanger machine that keeps everyday use simple. Thanks to its thermosyphon system, it draws fresh tank water for each shot – from Profitec, a German manufacturer based in Bammental near Heidelberg, handcrafted in Germany and Italy.
Coffee Coaching Club is a partner of Profitec in Switzerland. With every new coffee machine from CHF 1'500, a private barista introduction course of around 60 minutes is included – in Bern, Zurich or online, for up to two people from the same household or company attending together. The course must take place within one month of delivery; after that, the entitlement expires. Get in touch with us for the course and we'll find a date together.
The high-quality E61 group head is solidly built and keeps the temperature stable throughout the shot. As a heat exchanger, you can brew and steam at the same time.
Instead of rotary knobs, joystick valves deliver Quick-Steam: one click, and full steam power is available instantly, instead of turning it up gradually. The No-Burn steam and hot water wands stay cool on the outside and are easier to clean, since milk barely sticks to them.
The thermosyphon system draws fresh water from the tank for espresso, not water from the boiler. Stainless steel boiler, 2 litres, insulated, 1400-watt heating element, vibration pump.
Large 3-litre water tank with adapter, removable cup tray for easy refilling, boiler and pump pressure gauges, automatic shut-off and indicator light for low water. Weight around 23 kg.

For anyone who wants a classic E61 heat exchanger machine that stays simple in everyday use. The large tank and removable cup tray make refilling easy – convenient when the machine sees a lot of use.
For an even extraction, a grinder from the Varia collection is a natural match – the VS3 for anyone who wants it affordable and precise, the VS6 for anyone who wants more. For the espresso itself, a scale: compact and reliable from the Normcore collection, or with app and flow-rate display from the Acaia collection. Add a tamper from the same Normcore range or from Weber Workshops, and fresh beans like Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. More from the lineup in the Profitec collection.
Instead of rotary knobs, joystick valves deliver Quick-Steam: one click, and full steam power is instantly available to froth milk right after your espresso.
It draws fresh water from the tank through the group head for extraction, instead of using water from the hot boiler. This keeps the taste clean.
Plan for around 20 minutes so the E61 group head reaches a stable temperature.
Of course – you can see it live in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. Just let us know, and we'll have it ready for you.
With an E61 heat exchanger, it's worth running a short blank shot through the group head before your first extraction, so the water doesn't run too hot into the portafilter. That's our recommendation, one of many.
