The water tank, delivered fully assembled
A water tank is more than a container: the connector, seal and guide are attached to the tank, and all of them have to sit to the millimetre, otherwise the pump draws air. That is why this part is delivered fully assembled – you fit it instead of putting it together.
The part number is R489910457. Our documentation does not say which series it belongs to, so we do not claim a model here. Rocket offers several tanks for its different housing sizes, and they look confusingly similar. Send us your machine's serial number before ordering, and we will check the fit together.
When it is due
The tank has a hairline crack and is slowly losing water – often you notice it first from a damp housing base rather than on the tank itself. The plastic has turned cloudy and can no longer be cleaned properly. The pump draws air even though the tank is full, because the connector at the bottom no longer seals tightly. Or the tank was dropped while being taken out and has cracked.

Important for installation
Exactly where this tank sits and how it is fastened is not described in our documentation – hence this section as a precaution. On Rocket machines, the tank compartment is located in the immediate vicinity of the electrics, and water-carrying connections are attached to the bottom of the tank. Disconnect the machine from the mains before working on the tank compartment. We do not provide step-by-step instructions here.

The tank connectors in the Rocket catalogue
The block through which the water tank couples to the machine differs depending on the series – above all in the number of outlets. Around it sit the coupling, push-in connector and sealing ring. We carry nine parts for this, and they are not interchangeable.

The connectors look alike. If in doubt, count the outlets on your old part, or send us your machine's serial number and we will check the fit.

Before first use, we rinse a new tank twice with warm water and then leave it open for a short while. Otherwise, new plastic gives off a slight taste of its own in the first few days, which you notice precisely in the espresso. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. We then pull the first shot with a bean we know well – Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty. More under coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. This does not affect your rights in the case of defective goods.

The capacity is not documented for this number. We do not give a figure here that we cannot back up.
Is this an electrical part?
No. The tank itself has no electrical function. The level probe that sits in the tank on some machines is a separate part and not part of this item.
