Varia Modular Dosing Cup – for VS3 and 54/58mm Portafilters
You catch the freshly ground powder, tap it briefly, and transfer it to the portafilter – without anything landing on the counter. The elevated cup keeps the powder together, especially with darker roasts that tend to static cling.
Coffee Coaching Club is the exclusive Swiss importer of Varia.
What makes the dosing cup special
The cup holds 60g and is intentionally built higher to reduce static kickback from dark roasted or chaff-rich beans. The exterior is powder-coated and matched to the VS3 colors, while the anodized heads match the lid and collar colors of the grinder. The cup connects to the VS3's magnetic base via a magnet, and a soft-touch silicone base ensures a secure stand. Available in black, white, and silver, for either 54mm or 58mm portafilters.

What goes with it
The cup is designed for the Varia VS3, but works with any grinder that doses into a cup format. For the next step at the portafilter, tampers and distributors from the Tamper Collection are suitable, along with a machine from the Coffee Machines and fresh beans from our Coffee Roastery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which size do I need, 54 or 58 mm?
That depends on your portafilter. Most machines use 58 mm, some more compact models use 54 mm. Check the size of your portafilter.
Does the cup only work with the VS3?
The magnetic connection and colors are matched to the VS3, but the cup can be used with any grinder.
What is the elevated design for?
It keeps the powder together and reduces individual particles from jumping out when dark roasted, statically charged coffee is present.
Roastery Tip
A quick spritz of water on the beans before grinding, known as the RDT method, noticeably reduces static charge – meaning even less sticks in the cup. Our Cozy Chocolate, as a medium roast, doses particularly cleanly. This is our recommendation, one of many.
