The steam nozzle sits at the tip of the wand and shapes the jet that sets the milk in motion. This version is kept short and has a 1,1 millimetre bore, made of stainless steel. If limescale builds up in the fine opening, the clean jet turns into a restless hiss and the foam becomes coarse.
The nozzle carries the number A.5.180. The part number is A.5.180.
Before you replace a nozzle, a thorough descaling and a cleaning of the opening is almost always worthwhile. Very often the jet is back afterwards, and the part lasts for years. You will find suitable products for this in our machine and grinder cleaning range. Only when the bore is permanently clogged or damaged is it time for a replacement.

For baristas who want a fine, focused jet, and for technicians replacing a scaled-up nozzle.
We carry nine steam nozzles in the La Marzocco catalogue, spread across four designs. Which one belongs on your machine is decided by the wand, not the machine model. If you are unsure, send us the serial number and we will check the fit together.
On the classic steam wand: the version with four 1,2 mm holes; the version with four 1,5 mm holes.
On the Cool Touch steam wand: the version with four 1,5 mm holes.
On other wands: the nozzle with four 1,2 mm holes made of PEEK for the Linea Mini R, part number A.6.004; the short 1,1 mm stainless steel nozzle, A.5.180 – i.e. this product; the complete swivelling steam nozzle for the Linea series, T.2.126.
Tips for the Autosteam wand: the Vortex tip Ø 1,3 mm at 45 degrees, F.3.183; the Vortex tip Ø 1,5 mm at 45 degrees, F.3.182; the Tornado tip at 60 degrees, A.5.148.
For none of the nine nozzles do our documents state the thread size or material grade. So we leave this information out rather than guess it.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
To descale, we hang the wand vertically in a tall container so that the solution really reaches the nozzle – lying flat, half the bore stays dry. That is our routine, not a manufacturer's specification. Then we pull an espresso with Cozy Chocolate and check that everything is right – more in our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
What matters is the 1,1 millimetre bore in the short version. Tell us your machine and we will confirm the right nozzle.
Not necessarily. First descale thoroughly and clean the opening. That is often enough on its own.
