Explore more →Some movements just live in the wrist – the slight tilt of the steam wand, the drifting of the pitcher, until the swirl lands exactly where it should. That movement stays the same, but what happens at the end of the wand depends on one tiny part: the steam tip with its four openings.
On the classic steam wand, the 1.5mm version produces a somewhat wider, softer steam release than the 1.2mm variant – an option for anyone who prefers a calmer steam pattern without giving up power.
How fine or powerful the steam comes out is pure physics: hole size and number determine the exit speed and how much air gets worked into the milk. Over time, fine limescale and milk deposits change this geometry slightly – the effect is barely noticeable at first but becomes clearer with every further use.
Switching to a new original tip brings the classic steam wand back to its original character, with no intervention in the machine or the wand itself.

For anyone with a classic steam wand who prefers a somewhat wider steam pattern than the 1.2mm version, or whose current tip has lost performance. A simple replacement that shows up directly in your milk texture.
For the milk itself, our milk pitchers are a good match – compact with Normcore, or more generously with a Rhino or Weber Workshops pitcher. For the regular upkeep of the steam wand and machine, take a look at our cleaning products. And for the whole machine, our La Marzocco collection gives you the right overview.
The 1.5mm version produces a somewhat wider, softer steam pattern, while the 1.2mm tip works more focused and powerful. Both are made for the classic steam wand.
A weaker or uneven steam jet, as well as visible buildup in the openings, are the clearest signs that a replacement is due.
The old tip is unscrewed, the new one screwed straight on – a quick job, no special tools needed.

Delivery takes 2–4 business days, throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein.
A round, even steam pattern deserves an equally well-rounded espresso. Our main recommendation: Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight, dense, aromatic, full-bodied. For maximum body with no acidity at all: Very Nutty. For anyone who wants to discover a fruity experience: Wild Peach, lively and always a discovery. Our recommendation from the roastery, one of many.
