A steam valve that keeps dripping for a moment after you close it is just annoying at first. A few weeks later, it means a limescale ring on the steam wand, a wet drip tray and a machine that keeps reheating because steam is escaping. The cause almost always lies at the point where the valve closes.
This sealing unit for the steam valve has the part number B.2.010. It is supplied as an assembly. Exactly which individual parts it includes is not broken down in our documentation – we don't list anything here that we can't back up.
The valve keeps dripping after closing. It takes noticeably more force to make it seal. A limescale ring forms on the steam wand even though it is wiped regularly. Or the valve is open for a service anyway – then the sealing unit gets replaced too, because opening it a second time costs more than the part.

The steam valve carries steam at boiler pressure. Work is carried out on a depressurised, cooled-down machine. We deliberately don't provide step-by-step instructions here. A tip from practice: if steam still gets through after replacing the sealing unit, the valve seat is usually worn – then the only fix is to replace it as well.
For service companies that overhaul La Marzocco steam valves, and for businesses that don't want to put up with a dripping valve for months.
The same assembly also includes the stainless steel valve seat F.3.007, the steam valve spindle spring and the O-ring for the spindle. Model-specific overhaul kits are available as the overhaul kit for Linea PB and GB5 and the steam and water overhaul kit for the Linea Micra. More under Original spare parts.
From our workshop
In Bern and Zurich, we follow a simple sequence for a dripping steam valve: first check whether it really is the valve dripping and not the steam wand draining, then the sealing unit, then the seat. If you reverse the order, you often replace the more expensive part first. This is our routine, not a manufacturer's specification. For the final test cappuccino we use Nutty Delight, for a more chocolatey cup Cozy Chocolate, for more intensity Very Nutty; everything else under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or test-fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
This is not broken down in our documentation, and we won't make up a list. You receive the assembly as the manufacturer lists it under B.2.010.
The working documentation doesn't name a model. Send us the serial number and the position from your exploded view, and we'll check the fit.
Often the valve seat. If the seat surface is worn, even a new element will no longer seal reliably.
No. This is purely mechanical. We don't sell electrical components online.
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a quick message beforehand and we'll have the part ready for you.
