The front of the Micra – the surface you see first every morning
The front panel is the large, plain sheet of metal below the brew head. It carries nothing, it seals nothing – it is the face of the machine. That is exactly why every scratch on it stands out, and exactly why it is usually ordered not because it is broken, but because it no longer looks good.
What wears it down is everyday use: the portafilter brushes over the edge when it is turned out, milk jugs bump against it, and rinse water leaves fine limescale films on the chrome, which at some point you try to rub off – with fine scratches as the result. After a few years, the front shows how much coffee it has seen.
When it is due
Replace the front panel when it is scratched all over or rubbed dull. When a dent or a knock is visible from the front. When the chrome layer is coming off in one spot. When a fastening has torn out and the panel no longer sits flush. And when you want to change the colour of your Micra – chrome and matte black are two separate parts.

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
Our own routine, not a manufacturer's specification: when a Micra gets a new front from us, we tape off the edge below the brew head with a narrow strip of masking tape for the first day. It sounds odd, but it prevents exactly the one scuff that happens when you are not yet used to the turning angle of the portafilter on a new machine. Then we pull the first shot, on the Micra preferably with Nutty Delight. It gets more chocolatey with Cozy Chocolate, bolder with Very Nutty. Everything under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we will check the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the front panel RAL 9006?
No. This front panel has the number C.1.660. The front panel in RAL 9006 and the front housing frame have their own numbers and are different parts.
Is the logo included?
No. The logo is a separate product and is available in several colours.
Is the front also available in black?
Yes, as a separate product in matte black. It is linked above under «What goes with it».
Can I replace it myself?
It is an external housing part. Switch the machine off beforehand, disconnect it from the mains and let it cool down – behind it are hot and live components.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
Yes. In Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Let us know beforehand and we will have it ready for you.
