The chrome cap above the group – the face of the Micra
The Linea Micra is a small machine with very few visible surfaces, and the cover above the brew group is one of them. It sits at eye level, exactly where your hand goes when inserting the portafilter, and exactly where the water splashes up during rinsing.
Accordingly, everyday use quickly shows on it. The portafilter handle occasionally knocks against the edge when inserted, limescale from the rinse water dries onto the chrome surface and leaves dull films, and anyone who has gone over it with a scouring pad once has fine scratches that never disappear in backlight. Functionally that changes nothing – visually it changes everything.
When it is due
Replace the cover when the chrome surface is scratched over a large area, dull or stained and can no longer be polished out. When an edge is dented or chipped. When the coating is coming off in one spot. When a fastening has torn out and the cover no longer sits snugly. And when you want to change the colour of your Micra – chrome, black and white are three separate parts.

Who it is for
For Micra owners who want the machine to look good in their kitchen, and for anyone who has taken over a used Micra and is bringing the visible parts back up to standard.

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
Our own routine, not a manufacturer's specification: we never wipe chrome surfaces on the Micra dry, but take a slightly damp microfibre cloth and go over them once in one direction. Rubbing dry drags the fine limescale dust across the surface, and that is exactly what creates the fine circles you later see in backlight. Once the machine is gleaming again, we pull the first shot – on the Micra preferably with Nutty Delight, which stays stable even with a small boiler. It gets more chocolatey with Cozy Chocolate, bolder with Very Nutty. Everything under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we will check the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the brew group cover RAL 9006?
No. This cover has the number C.1.661; the cover in RAL 9006 has its own number and is a different part. If you are unsure, send us a photo.
Is it also available in black or white?
Yes, as separate products with their own part numbers. Both are linked above under «What goes with it».
Are screws included?
The cover is supplied. Fastening parts are separate items – write to us if you need any.
Can I replace it myself?
It is an external housing part. Switch the machine off beforehand, disconnect it from the mains and let it cool down – underneath sits the hot brew group.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
Yes. In Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Let us know beforehand and we will have it ready for you.
