A scale in the drip tray only works if the weight reaches the load cell without any detours. In between sit a few inconspicuous parts, and this is one of them: a Teflon support with magnets set into it. Teflon, because it doesn't bind and doesn't squeak; magnets, because the grate should sit securely on it without being screwed down.
If it gets damaged or a magnet comes loose, the scale no longer reads reliably. The weight fluctuates even though nothing is moving, or a residual value remains after the shot. Anyone who then searches in the electronics is searching in the wrong place. Part number F.1.084.R.
The scale jumps between values even though nothing on the grate is moving. The grate no longer sits flush or it slips. A magnet is missing or loose. The support shows cracks or clear signs of wear. Or the drip tray was taken apart anyway and the part has seen better days.

The scale area sits directly above electronics and wiring. Before taking anything apart, switch the machine off, disconnect it from the mains and let it cool down. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here. After installation, the scale should be checked and, if necessary, readjusted with the calibration weight – otherwise the display will be just as inaccurate afterwards as it was before.
For businesses with Brew Ratio machines whose display has become unsteady, and for technicians repairing a scale. If your display has failed completely, you're better off starting with the diagnosis than with the spare parts list.
The same assembly includes the grate with pins, the plastic cover, the plastic ring as drip guard and the brass spacer screw. For checking, use the calibration weight 100 g. Everything else is in the La Marzocco accessories and spare parts section.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: Before we take anything apart on a Brew Ratio scale, we place the calibration weight on it and take it off again three times and check whether the display shows the same value each time. If it already scatters at that point, the cause is almost always the mechanics and not the load cell. This is our own routine, not a manufacturer specification. We then pull a shot by weight as a check, ideally with Nutty Delight or Cozy Chocolate. If you like it stronger, go for Very Nutty; the full selection is under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
No. Only the support with the magnets is supplied. The load cell and electronic board are electrical components and are not sold through our online shop – ask us if you need one of these parts.
No. The manufacturer explicitly excludes ModBar.
We recommend it. After any work on the mechanics, the display should be checked with a known weight.
That is not stated in the documentation available to us, and we don't make up values. The number F.1.084.R is what counts.
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Let us know beforehand and we'll have it ready.
