A washer with a 10,7 millimetre inner diameter and a 30 millimetre outer diameter has a ratio that no DIY store stocks: a lot of surface around a small hole. Washers like this sit where a screw presses into plastic, into thin sheet metal or onto a seal, and the load has to be spread instead of pulling at a single point.
The material is A2 stainless steel, the dimensions are 10,7 × 30 × 1,8 mm, and the part number is I.1.033. A2 does not rust in areas exposed to steam and splash water – that is why this is not simply a galvanised washer.
The old washer is bent or pressed into a dish shape. It has developed surface rust because a standard washer was fitted at the last service. The component underneath shows an imprint, even though the screw was not overtightened. Or it is simply missing – then the screw pulls directly onto the surface, and that leaves marks.

The washer sits inside the machine. Only work on the machine when it is switched off, cooled down and depressurised. Make sure the washer lies flat and does not tilt on an edge or a weld seam – a tilting washer does not spread the load, it concentrates it. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here.
With a shim, what matters is the material, inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness – the name alone is never enough. These are the items we stock:
Two washers with almost the same dimensions are not interchangeable if the material is different: a copper washer is allowed to settle, a Teflon washer is springy, a steel washer stays hard. When in doubt, the number on your old part decides.
For workshops that consistently replace the stainless steel standard parts during an overhaul, and for anyone searching for exactly this washer with the number I.1.033 from a service document.
The plastic version with the same outer dimension is the PTFE washer F.1.032. Also matching are the M6 × 18 hex head screw and the M5 self-locking hex nut. All small parts are in the category Original spare parts, the rest of the range under La Marzocco accessories and spare parts.
From our workshop
When we open a machine in Bern and Zurich and find a galvanised DIY-store washer in a place where stainless steel belongs, we replace it, even if it is still holding – in the steam area, a washer like that starts to bloom within months and stains the sheet metal underneath. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. What is in the cup meanwhile: Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty. More under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will check the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
A2 is the common designation for a rust-resistant chromium-nickel steel used for standard parts. Our documentation says nothing more about the material.
In material and dimensions: I.1.033 is made of stainless steel and measures 10,7 × 30 × 1,8 mm, F.1.032 is made of PTFE and measures 10 × 30 × 2 mm. Metal and plastic have different jobs in a screw connection and cannot be swapped for one another.
Our documentation does not say, so we do not claim it. What is reliable is the number I.1.033 and the dimensions. Send us the serial number and we will check the fit.
