The shim you order by its number – I.6.024
Some items appear in the spare parts list with nothing more than their number and a brief note. This is one of them: it is listed as a washer in the version “without scratch protection”, with part number I.6.024. What exactly is meant by scratch protection – a coating, an added intermediate layer or a second variant of the same washer – is not stated in our documentation, and we are not going to make it up here.
That is why exactly one piece of information is reliable: the number. If you find I.6.024 in service documentation or on an exploded view drawing, this is where you get the part for that number.
When it is due
The old washer is bent, cracked or broke during disassembly. It no longer lies flat. It has gone missing. Or your service documentation lists I.6.024 and you want to replace this item as well at the next service.

Important for installation
The washer sits inside the machine. Only work on the machine when it is switched off, cooled down and depressurised. Because we have no dimensions for this item, compare the new washer with the old one before installing it – and if you are unsure, write to us beforehand with the serial number and we will check it together. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here.
Washers and shims in the catalogue
With a shim, what matters is the material, inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness – the name alone is never enough. We stock these items:
-
Ø 30 mm outer: I.1.091, 14,2 × 30 × 2 mm, steel, I.6.005, 14,1 × 30 × 2 mm, Teflon, I.1.033, 10,7 × 30 × 1,8 mm, stainless steel A2 and F.1.032, 10 × 30 × 2 mm, PTFE
-
Smaller dimensions: L100/D, 10 × 14 × 1,5 mm, copper, L165/2, 16,5 × 26 × 1 mm, brass and I.1.170, 14 × 7 × 0,5 mm, brass
-
Copper washers for the pump: L180/1, 22 × 17 × 1,5 mm, L100/1A and L4002
-
No dimensions given: I.6.024, without scratch protection (this item)
Two washers with almost the same dimensions are not interchangeable if the material is different: a copper washer is allowed to settle, a Teflon washer gives slightly, a steel washer stays hard. If in doubt, the number on your old part decides.
Who it is for
For service technicians who work with an exploded view drawing and have found the number I.6.024 on it – and for anyone looking for a small part that cannot be sourced anywhere else.
What goes with it
From the same number series we stock the Teflon washer I.6.005, the spacer sleeve I.6.007 and the grub screw M5 × 20 with POM tip. All small parts are in the Original spare parts section, the rest of the range under La Marzocco accessories and spare parts.
From our workshop
For items with no documented dimensions, we photograph the old part next to a ruler in Bern and Zurich before it goes into the tray – later, the photo answers the question that nobody else can answer any more. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. What is in the cup while we do it: Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty. More under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
What does “without scratch protection” mean?
That is the designation under which the item is listed in our documentation. What it refers to is not explained there – which is why we do not interpret it here. Write to us if you need to know for your installation, and we will ask.
What are the dimensions of the washer?
We have no information on this. The number I.6.024 is what you can rely on. Compare the new washer with the old one before installing it.
What material is it made of?
That is not stated in our documentation either, so we do not name one.
How many pieces do I get?
One washer per order unit.
Can I look at the part in your shop?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
