Brass washer 14 x 7 x 0,5 mm – the smallest part with the biggest effect
A brass washer half a millimetre thick decides whether a threaded connection stays tight or drips. Brass is softer than steel: when tightened, the washer settles into the irregularities of the sealing surface and closes them. That is exactly why it is a wear part – it seals properly once and never quite as well again afterwards.
This washer has an outer diameter of 14 millimetres, a bore of 7 millimetres and a thickness of 0,5 millimetres. The manufacturer lists it under part number I.1.170, formerly I.4.001. One washer is supplied.
When it is due
A damp spot, a drop or a white limescale trace appears at the threaded connection. The connection has already been undone once – in that case the washer should always be replaced and not reused. Or the old washer is visibly imprinted, wavy or torn.

Important for installation
The washer sits in a pressurised connection inside the machine. That is why there are no installation instructions here: the machine must be depressurised and disconnected from the power, the tightening torque decides between a tight seal and a stripped thread, and after installation it has to be tested under pressure. This is a job for a specialist – our workshop will gladly do it.
Who it is for
For service technicians who do not want to fall back on a used washer after dismantling. For workshops that restock small parts like these in small quantities, because one missing washer blocks the whole appointment. And for businesses that consistently renew everything that seals during an overhaul.
What goes with it
You will find all small parts and seals in Accessories and spare parts for La Marzocco and in Service parts. For the home machines, take a look at Spare parts GS3 and Spare parts Linea Mini. Limescale is the most common reason for leaking sealing surfaces – which is why machine and grinder cleaning belongs with it.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
Our own routine, not a manufacturer's specification: before every overhaul we put all the brass washers we need into a small bowl before a single spanner is applied. If you only notice during reassembly that one is missing, you end up fitting the old one after all – and two weeks later you are looking for the drip. At the end we pull a test shot, preferably with Nutty Delight. Sweeter with Cozy Chocolate, stronger with Very Nutty. The full selection is in our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
How many washers do I get?
One. If you need several, simply order the corresponding quantity – or write to us and we will put together a small set for you.
What are the exact dimensions of the washer?
Outer 14 millimetres, bore 7 millimetres, thickness 0,5 millimetres, material brass. Part number I.1.170, formerly I.4.001.
Can't I reuse the old washer?
It is deformed after the first tightening and no longer sits cleanly the second time. In our experience, this is the most common cause of leaks after a service.
Does it fit every La Marzocco?
Not everywhere. The dimensions decide. Send us the model and serial number and we will check whether it is the right position.
Can I look at the part in your showroom?
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Let us know shortly beforehand and we will have the part ready.
