A short, muffled knock, and the puck drops into the container. The portafilter goes back into its recess, the tamper stands next to it, the puck screen lies in the drawer. No searching, fewer grounds on the counter, a single walnut piece where everything has its place.
The knock box from MHW-3BOMBER combines tamping station, portafilter holder, knock container and drawer. Three recesses take portafilters, tampers and distributors of 51 to 58 mm; a removable insert adapts the portafilter recess to different sizes. Next to them sits the knock container with a capacity of 1.5 litres and a silicone knock bar that dampens noise and impact.
You lift out the knock container to empty and clean it. Silicone pads on top protect portafilter and tools, and silicone feet on the underside keep the box steady while knocking and protect your worktop. The magnetic drawer keeps puck screens, baskets and small tools within reach.
If you already have a knock box, a portafilter holder may be enough: for 51 to 58 mm, MHW-3BOMBER makes one in walnut with a drawer and a slim one in ABS. In our experience, the multifunctional knock box is worth it when you want everything in one piece and have the room for it on your counter.

For everyone who pulls several shots a day on a portafilter machine and wants to reduce their workspace to one piece. For households where several people drink espresso and the knock container should not have to be emptied after every coffee. And for everyone who likes wood on the counter and wants puck screen, tamper and distributor in a fixed place.
Tip from our café: Take a look at the puck before you knock it out. In our experience, with the right grind size and dose it drops into the container as a firm cake; if it is wet and falls apart, it is worth going one step finer or using a little more coffee. Our Italian-style espresso blend Cozy Nut is a good one to practise with, as it forgives small deviations. If you are looking for more depth, try Chestnut Delight or Creamy Chestnut with its note of roasted chestnuts. That is our recommendation, one of many.
Before tamping, you loosen the coffee grounds with the MHW-3BOMBER Lightning WDT Tool 2.0. If you also want to tamp at a second spot, there is the MHW-3BOMBER Tamper Mat. You will find more knock containers under knock boxes and knock containers and knock boxes and drawers, and everything from MHW-3BOMBER under MHW-3BOMBER. And for the next puck: our coffee beans from our own roastery.
The knock container holds 1.5 litres. To empty and clean it, simply lift it out.
The recesses are designed for portafilters, tampers and distributors of 51 to 58 mm. A removable insert adapts the portafilter recess to different sizes.
The knock bar is made of silicone and dampens noise and impact. Silicone feet on the underside keep the box steady and protect your worktop.
In the magnetic drawer you keep puck screens, baskets and small tools. That way the top stays free for portafilter, tamper and distributor.
Delivery takes 2–4 working days, throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein. You can also order online and pick up in Bern or Zurich.
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Best ask briefly beforehand whether it is on site at the moment.
