On the Cellini and the Giotto, the steam and water knob is not screwed on but held by a clip. It is an elegant solution: no screw head in sight, quick removal for servicing. The price for this is that a small spring element holds everything together.
If the clip loses its tension or breaks, the knob wobbles, slips on the shaft or falls off when turned. This is rarely dangerous, but annoying in day-to-day service – and fixed straight away with a part costing a few francs.
The knob has play, wobbles or can be pulled off. When turned, the knob slips even though the shaft can be moved. The clip is broken, bent or got lost during servicing – the most common reason of all, because parts like this like to jump onto the floor.

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
Our routine, not a manufacturer requirement: before we pull off a knob, we put a cloth over the drip tray. Clips, O-rings and small caps jump surprisingly far, and whatever ends up behind the machine will not be found on a Friday evening. We also always order small parts like these twice – at two francs, the second clip is cheaper than a second call-out. Then the obligatory test cappuccino: Very Nutty for milk, Nutty Delight as an all-rounder, Cozy Chocolate when you want it sweeter. More in Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will check the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
The part number is A809904377, and the item description names Cellini and Giotto. Both model series exist in several generations – send us the serial number and we will check before you order.
No. Only the clip is supplied. Knob, cap and O-ring are separate items.
One per knob. If you are doing steam and water at the same time, take two – and at this price a spare is worth it.
It is accessible from the outside and designed to be released without tools. Still, disconnect the machine from the power supply first and let it cool down.
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Bring the serial number of your machine and we will check the fit together at the counter.
