The older version – and why the serial number decides everything here
Rocket changed the steam and water tap of the Premium Plus and the Evoluzione in the middle of the production run. Up to serial number D1224G2V3181, the version with part number A227704280 is fitted; after that, a different one. The two look similar and are not interchangeable – if you order the wrong one, you end up with a part that fits nowhere.
The tap itself is a purely mechanical component. A handle, a spindle, a gasket on a seat. It wears where heat, limescale and hand force come together: right at the sealing seat.
When it is due
Signs are constant hissing or dripping with the handle closed, a handle without a clear stop, a catching rotation, moisture on the valve body and dripping that quickly returns after a gasket service. The last case clearly points to a worn seat.

Important for installation
The tap is mounted on the boiler and carries steam and hot water under pressure. Unplug the machine, let it cool down completely, release the pressure – in that order. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here: the tightening torque on the boiler fitting determines whether it seals, and the electrics sit right next to it behind the front panel.

For owners of an older Premium Plus, Evoluzione or Professional and for workshops. Because the series cut-off is strict here, it is worth checking the rating plate before ordering – or sending us a quick message.
What goes with it
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
We write the serial number of every machine that passes through our hands on the inside of the back panel. At the next service, nobody has to turn the machine around to get to the rating plate – and mix-ups like the one with this tap don't happen in the first place. Our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. We like to do the test extraction with Nutty Delight or Cozy Chocolate, and for pure body with Very Nutty. More in our coffee bean selection.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine before ordering – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
How do I know which version I need?
From the serial number on the rating plate. Up to D1224G2V3181 it is A227704280, from D1224G2V3182 it is A229905621. Send us the number if you are unsure.
Is this a solenoid valve?
No. It is a purely mechanical, hand-operated tap with no coil and no electrical connection.
Why is there no category for Premium Plus and Evoluzione?
Our category system does not list these names as separate models. The parts can nevertheless be found via the spare parts category and the part number.
Are the rotary knob and cover included?
No. The scope of delivery follows the manufacturer's specification for number A227704280, which does not list either.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
