Sometimes a service document lists nothing but a number and the word “spring”. That is exactly what this item is for: it lists the Rocket spring with part number R299905958, so you can order it without having to guess what it might be called in a catalogue.
We are open about what we don’t know: the documents available to us do not show which assembly this spring sits on or which model series it is approved for. We don’t make anything up about it. If you have the number from an exploded view or from a service technician, it is the reliable route – more reliable than any description.
A spring is replaced when it is broken, has started to rust or has visibly settled – meaning it is shorter than a new one – and the assembly therefore no longer returns cleanly to its rest position. You notice it as a soft, vague pressure point or when a part gets stuck.

Because the installation location is not documented to us, we assume the worst case: the spring may sit in an area that carries water or steam under pressure or is close to the electrics. Before any work, the machine must therefore be disconnected from the mains, depressurised and cooled down, and the replacement belongs in the hands of a qualified technician. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here.
For service businesses and for anyone who has a specific part number in front of them and wants to get the part in Switzerland, without the detour of ordering from abroad.
We carry seven springs, and their names sound similar enough to mix them up. They are not interchangeable – when in doubt, go by the part number in your service documents, not by the name.
Four springs without model series information: A209904332 for the steam and water tap, C219900427 for the coffee brew lever, R299905958 – i.e. this product – and A999905754. For the last two, our documents name neither the installation location nor the machine.
Three springs of the TCA series: A219909449, the spring for steam and water on the Appartamento TCA, A219909448, the matching spring support and R019908932, the bushing spring.
For none of these springs do our documents state wire gauge, length or material. Send us the serial number of your machine and we’ll check the fit.
For an overview of all Rocket items, see Rocket accessories and spare parts; all spare parts are listed under Original spare parts. Frequently ordered together are the brew group flange gasket and the gasket for the steam and water tap – both small parts you’d rather not order twice.
Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich: With small parts that have no clear description, we always photograph the installed position before removal – from two directions, with a ruler next to it. It sounds like effort and in the end saves half an hour of guesswork during reassembly. This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. And because workshop work takes patience: Cozy Chocolate, Nutty Delight or the strong Very Nutty, all under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a short message and we’ll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
That is not documented to us, and we don’t guess. The number R299905958 is the reliable reference point. If you have an exploded view in which it appears, send it to us – we’ll then add the information here.
Wire gauge, length, diameter and material are not documented to us. We don’t give figures that we can’t back up.
Via the part number in your service documents or via the serial number of your machine. Send us both and we’ll check the fit before you order.
