A chrome-plated panel is unforgiving. It doesn't just show scratches, it shows them twice over, because the light is refracted in the mirror surface. As long as it is flawless, it is the best a housing panel can be – after that, only replacement helps, because a chrome layer cannot be re-polished like brushed stainless steel.
The panel's job is simple: to cover the side of the machine interior where the boiler, pipes and electrics sit. This item is the chrome-plated side panel with part number A059909431.
If the chrome layer starts to blister at an edge, it keeps spreading over time – waiting makes the spot bigger, not smaller.

The documentation does not say which model series this panel belongs to, and no dimensions are given either. So we don't list anything here that we can't back up. Send us your machine's serial number before ordering and we'll check the fit – for a panel in this price range, that's worth the two minutes.
Behind the panel are the boiler, hot pipes and live parts. Switch the machine off, pull the mains plug, let it cool down completely – only then open it. We deliberately don't give step-by-step instructions here. And one practical point: chrome-plated sheet metal doesn't forgive being tilted or jammed when fitting it. If you're unsure, have it installed.

For workshops and owners who are refurbishing a Rocket with a chrome-plated housing and are looking up the item via the part number from the service documentation. If you're ordering by appearance alone, it's better to ask first – a chrome panel is too expensive for a wrong order.
From our workshop in Bern and Zürich
We always clean chrome with nothing but warm water and a soft cloth, never with scouring cream or a microfibre cloth that has already seen limescale. That's our house rule, not a manufacturer requirement – but it's the reason the panels on our demo machines still shine like mirrors after years. We remove limescale film with a damp cloth and patience, not pressure.
And once the machine is closed again: we test with Nutty Delight, because it forgives nothing. If you like it sweeter, take Cozy Chocolate; if you want power, Very Nutty. Everything else is in our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we'll clarify the fit together. Your statutory rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
The documentation doesn't say for this number, and we don't guess. Send us your machine's serial number and we'll check the fit before you order.
That isn't documented for this number either. Same answer: just ask and we'll clarify it.
Light haze can be removed. A scratch that goes through the chrome layer cannot – the base material shows through there, and polishing makes the spot bigger.
No. The panel is supplied on its own.
Yes. We're in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zürich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Bring your machine's serial number and we'll put the part next to it.
