On an Appartamento TCA, the side panel is more than just sheet metal. It is the surface along which the light runs and which gives the machine its shape. Technically, it has a simple job: covering the interior where the boiler, lines and electrics sit. Visually, it is half the machine.
If you take over a used Appartamento, you usually see it on this panel first – wipe marks that are no longer just wipe marks, an imprint from the portafilter handle, a dent from a house move. This item is the left side panel in stainless steel, part number A019908558.
When it is due
Unlike a seal, a side panel does not wear out. It is replaced when it is damaged:
- deep scratches or scuff marks that can no longer be polished out
- a dent or bump after an impact or transport
- tarnish marks and stains that do not come off even with stainless steel care products
- a panel that no longer sits flush after a service job or sticks out at one edge
- torn-out mounting points, so that the panel can no longer be tightened
If the panel no longer sits properly, it is more than a cosmetic issue: it is the cover over a hot, live area and must be firmly screwed in place.

Important for installation
Behind the panel are the boiler, hot lines and live parts. Switch off the machine, unplug it, let it cool down – and only then remove the panel. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here. If you do not know the inside of the machine, have the replacement done by a qualified technician.

What goes with it
From our workshop in Bern and Zürich
We always treat stainless steel panels in the direction of the grain – first wipe, then polish, always lengthwise, never in circles. This is not a manufacturer requirement, but the reason why one machine still looks like new after five years while another looks dull and cloudy. When reinstalling, we insert all screws loosely and only tighten them at the end so that the panel is not put under tension.
Afterwards comes a test shot that shows everything is right on the inside too. We like to use Nutty Delight, because it immediately shows if something is not right. Sweeter with Cozy Chocolate, stronger with Very Nutty – everything else under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we will check the fit together. Your statutory rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.

How does this panel differ from the black one?
In the finish. The black version is a separate item with the number A019908779. Both sit in the same place.
Are screws and panel insert included?
No. The side panel is supplied on its own. We carry panel inserts as separate items.
Is this an electrical part?
No. It is a purely sheet-metal part. However, it covers an area with mains voltage – hence the installation note.
Can I look at the part in your showroom?
