You catch the freshly ground coffee, give it a quick tap and tip it into the portafilter – without anything landing on the counter. The raised cup keeps the grounds together, especially with darker roasts that tend towards static.
Coffee Coaching Club is an importer of Varia.
The cup holds 60 g and is deliberately built taller to reduce static kickback from heavily roasted or chaff-rich beans. The outside is powder-coated and matched to the VS3 colours, and the anodised tops match the grinder's lid and collar colours. A magnet connects the cup to the VS3's magnetic base, and a soft-touch silicone base keeps it steady. Available in black, white and silver, each for 54 mm or 58 mm portafilters.

The cup is matched to the Varia VS3, but works with any grinder you dose from into a cup. For the next step at the portafilter, tampers and distributors from the tamper collection are a good fit, plus a machine from the coffee machines and fresh beans from our coffee roastery.
As an importer of Varia, we have the dosing cup in stock. Delivery throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2 to 4 working days, Click and Collect in Bern and Zurich. If you have questions, reach us at [email protected] or by phone during business hours.
That depends on your portafilter. Most machines use 58 mm, some more compact models 54 mm. Check the size of your portafilter.
The magnetic connection and the colours are matched to the VS3, but the cup can be used with any grinder.
It keeps the grounds together and reduces individual particles jumping out with statically charged, dark-roasted coffee.
A quick spritz of water on the beans before grinding, the so-called RDT method, noticeably reduces static – so even less sticks in the cup. Our Cozy Chocolate, a medium roast, doses particularly cleanly this way. That's our recommendation, one of many.
